Virgil "Fire" Trucks Success (Virgil Trucks)

by hlebain34 » Tue Jun 28, 2011 4:47 am

On 6-21-11 I sent a LOR, SASE, and baseball card to Virgil Trucks @:

Virgil Trucks
1016 Waterford Trail
Calera, AL 35040

On 6-27-11 I received my baseball card back autographed. Mr. Trucks also included a baseball card of his own which he autographed as well. Both baseball cards he signed, "Virgil 'Fire' Trucks." "Virgil" and "Trucks" he wrote in a blue Sharpie, and, "Fire" he wrote in a red pen. I also asked Mr. Trucks a few questions:

Q: Who was the toughest hitter you ever faced?
A: Ted Williams

Q: What pitcher in today's baseball most reminds you of yourself?
A: Verlander of the Tigers-also a 2 no-hitter

Q: Is there a team that you currently root for?
A: I still root for the Tigers

Mr. Trucks also wrote me this message:

Hi Adam,
Glad to sign your card, and give you one of mine. Hope you don't mind me answering your letter on your stationary. Well, I enjoyed my career and have better stats than a lot of players in the Hall of Fame. (I had mentioned in my letter to him that had he played in today's era of baseball he may have been a HOFer). Well Adam take care and I send my best to you and your family.

Sincerely,
-Virgil Trucks (he also signed the letter)

What a great success by a great person and baseball player! Thank you Mr. Trucks!
