Thanks for the response. Jon was a great guy and not just saying that because we were friends. Always willing to go the extra mile for people.

As far as the Vikings I really didn't expect anything back so I also wrote long time Minnesota Legend Bud Grant. But responded back but it wasn't nearly as cool as this one. I'm a diehard Bears fan so this made me look at the Vikings in a completely different light & players in general. It's nice to see a guy who gave so much to get a little something back.

wow! that is an amazing story. my prayers go out to jons family, but that even gives me hope, that the players out there arent always just in it for the money and "Their Glory" some of them really do know that they mean more than that, and that their fans are what drives them.

an amazing story, and i am sorry for the loss of your friend.

The greatest success I ever had will be one I'll never keep.

A good co-worker and great friend Jon went to the docter because he was having chest pains. Come to find out he had the 4th stage of cancer. It had spread to the bones, lungs, and brain. He was never the type to let us know if he was hurting or down. Attitude from the begining was he was going to beat it. He's been there for me during rough times & knew he was a diehard Vikings fan so I wrote Ziggy the owner of the Vikings at there address in the database sometime in early August. After returning home one night from poker benifit for him, I noticed a package had came in the mail. Inside was the picture I had sent Ziggy. Somehow it got passed to 5 members of the Vikes and they signed it for him. #26 Antoine Winfield, #28 Adrian Peterson, #93 Kein Williams, #40 Jimmy Kleinsasser, & #12 Percy Harvin. Since Jon was in the hospital I had to pass it on to his son Mike to give to him. he said it meant a lot to his Dad when he got it. I'm a diehard BEARS fan, always hated those Vikes. I can't beleive something like this could happen and make me look at them differently.

Jon passed away this Tuesday (9/20/11) about 4pm. We all did what we could during his month & half he was suffering. I'd like to think one of the positive things that might have given him some joy was the autograph. We miss you Jon.
