I know Mr. Englund sells autographs on his website, and asks for a smaller fee if you send something, or the picture has been returned unsigned with a price list. There have also been successes where he didn't charge (I was one). I guess it all depends on the letter you send. For example, I talked about how I used the first Nightmare in my horror films class and how the students reacted to it, and what an important film it is, and what an icon he's become. He must have liked it enough to sign for nothing (I told him I was an english teacher, and he signed it "read or die!" which I thought was an awesome touch). Also, I sent him a picture that I just printed out on my computer, on regular printer paper, so it was probably pretty clear that I wasn't going to try to turn around and sell it on ebay.

Your welcome!, & thanks spark delite, if u buy it off amazon for 10 something plus shipping, then you have to send it to him along with a SASE, being that is a hardcover book, it will cost at least 5 to send it there, plus 5 back, it costed Robert $7 to shipit to me, then the $10 fee so i was looking to break even if i bought 2nd hand, i said why not & just bought it directly from him.
about the convention thing, yes from what i know he charges about $25, but thats becuz he is pretty famous, thats nothin for a famous celeb, Mark Hamill & William Shatner both charge $125+, & i heard they can be jerks, Shatner is always on the top of the rude lists for celebs, even other celebrities rip on him, the convention has to pay for their flight, hotel & appearence fee so they have to make that money back, but on the plus side, ive heard Robert is one of the nicest people to meet!!

Thanks for sharing your sucess and telling about the book. It sounds very interesting, but I won't be buying it. I have so many books I want to read that I won't get around to it. I am a fan to some degree, but I haven't made it a point to study his career in depth. I did receive a small autographed postcard from him not too long ago.

I see your point about about Mr. Englund's signing practices. I don't have a strong view on it either way. Amazon sells the book new for $10-something. I guess one could buy it and then send it to him and save a little... if that's what they wanted.

I've seen a few in person sucesses from him at conferences. I assume that most actors charge fees at such events. Do you know if that's true for him or not?

Karolinapoland i get what you are saying & i understand, what i dont get is why Robert signs for free as well requests money, he should just do one or the other

I send him 2 photos in January and he signed everything for me, and for free. I think that such actors, that don`t want money for their signature are realy great, they get a lot of money from us when we go to the movies, buy their dvd or books, so it would be bad if we had to pay for their signature also!
