The Huntsville Comic and Pop Culture Expo was back in town from April 25-27 at the Von Braun Center and that means another chance to meet more celebrities in person. When I saw that Jodi Benson was on the list, I planned to meet her first to see if she remembers me because I met her before at the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall at the Von Braun Center on 3/12/11. When I told her where and when we met before, she remembered and she said I looked familiar. I told her that I still have my dream of being a voice actor. Like all Disney fans, I know her best as the speaking and singing voice of Ariel in
The Little Mermaid. She was also able to voice Ariel in the
Kingdom Hearts video game series. She also made a cameo in the 2023 live-action adaption of
The Little Mermaid. She also voiced these characters worth mentioning: the title character in Don Bluth's
Thumbelina, Weebo in
Flubber (starring Robin Williams), and Barbie in the
Toy Story franchise. I also told her that I met her fellow Disney Princess voice actresses Irene Bedard at this very event on 4/22/22 and Paige O'Hara at this very event on 4/12/24. And then I'm about to meet another Disney Princess voice actress at this year's event which I will mention in my next post. I paid $130 for an autograph and selfie. It just feels great for me to once again meet the very first celebrity I've met before after all those years, as well as the first Disney Princess. HALLEJULAH!
