11/23/2009 - The voice of Prince Charming in Disneys CINDERELLA, as well as a long list of credits in great movies of the 1950's, Mr. Phipps is probably the police officer or the military guy of that era that comes to mind when you picture such things! He's a marvelous character actor, and a heckuva guy! I sent three dvd covers, plus a LOR and SASE to Mr. Phipps on November 15th, and today, I received them all back and signed, plus a photocopied newspaper article about himself, which he also signed! 6/25/2009 - Any fans of old-time actor William Edward Phipps will be glad to know that he can still be reached through his talent agency: Commercial Talent, Inc 9255 Sunset Blvd, Suite 505 Los Angeles, CA, 90069 For those of you that may not be familiar with Bill, he's done a ton of movies and TV back in the 50's, all the way up to the 80's. After that he did a few more movies before retiring in 2001. He's best known for all the old sci-fi he was in, including The War Of The Worlds, and for voicing Prince Charming in Disney's Cinderella. I started a fan page for Bill on Facebook, and set out to contact him, mainly because he was very good friends with my grandma, and they went to school together before he went out to Hollywood, and I didn't know if he knew she had passed away. I found the Commercial Talent address on here, and called them to see if Bill could still be reached through them. They verified he can be. While I was getting together a letter to him, I found Grandma's address book, and she actually had his direct PO box! I verified that the PO box was still good, through one of my old teachers that knows Bill from their hometown, and [i:three weeks [/i:after sending the letter and DVD insert I asked him to autograph (along with a SASE, naturally), I received Bill's package at my doorstep! He sent a nice letter back with my DVD insert, and two additional autographed photos! What a great guy! I'm going to be writing him back, since he told me he gets no news from the old hometown, and hopefully we'll stay in touch! Anyway, I didn't think it would be right to give out his direct PO box, but I just wanted to let anyone who's interested know that he can still be reached at the Commercial Talent address, and he's more than generous with his autographed pictures! 3/31/2006 - I sent a letter and SASE to him using the address in the database on 3/18/06, yesterday I rcvd 3 autographed photos and he also included 2 signed newspaper articles that featured him.
