You can include a piece of cardboard to keep the photo from bending in shipping and also add "Do Not Bend" on the envelopes.

I'm don't remember the dates sent and received, but back in 2013 I sent Mr. Tippin a LOR, SASE and a custom page and a photo taken at one of his concerts, and got them both back signed and one personalized to my wife.
I sent them to the address in the database.
