How to send your fan mail and autograph requests to Benedict XVI?:

You can include a piece of cardboard to keep the photo from bending in shipping and also add "Do Not Bend" on the envelopes. Send your letter and wait. On average, there is going to be a 3+ month wait for a response. If you do not live in Vatican City, add several* International Reply Coupons. The International Reply Coupons (IRC) will be used by the receiver to purchase stamps. You can only get them at your post office. Place the IRCs into the envelope, not on it. 10/08/2009 - Sent book, LOR, addressed envelope, and €10 for postage on 8/31/09. Received book unsigned on 10/8/09, with a preprint autographed photo, also the money for postage was returned. I figured that it was a long shot to get an authentic signature, but it was worth a try, and I am happy with the photo.

7/07/2009 - I wrote to the vatican city address as listed in their website http://www.vatican.va on 1 June 2009 and got this photo and letter back on 29 June 2009. It was what I had expected when I wrote to him and pleased with the response to send me a Photo for scrapbook. It also had a nice letter attached Blessing My Family, which I found very pleasing even if it did not come exactly from him. I don't understand why it has a return address from Washington D.C., when I wrote to the Vatican City address?
