7/20/2009 - Back around the beginning of February, I emailed the George W. Bush Library and asked them how I could have a photo authentically signed by Former President Bush and they told me to mail it to this address: P.O. Box 259000 Dallas, TX 75225-9000 I mailed out two photos not long after that email. One photo was Bush's official White House portrait, and the other photo was a photo that President Bush mailed me back in 2005 after I mailed him a letter. The photo he mailed me was not signed, it was blank, so I thought it would be neat to have it autographed. I waited until Bush got out of office because I thought I would be able to get an authentic signature from him. Anyways, I mailed the two photos to him along with my letter telling him I was in the military and served in Iraq, and last Friday, July 17, 2009, I received my photo he sent me back in 2005, autopenned. I got a small note saying he would only sign one request...why bother with the note, he DIDN'T sign anything, a machine did. Something I thought was strange is that he sent out his fathers note from his office in Houston. He also sent me a card that has a lifted image of the White House on the front, and on the inside it has a photo of him and Laura Bush along with a message and their pre-printed signatures. I am very disappointed with this...I guess I can't really blame him for not signing it, because i'm sure he gets tons of request just coming out of office, but I wish I could have gotten an authentic autograph on that specific photo because it came from the White House while he was in Presidency. So far, I have received autographed photos from all the living former Presidents, but Bush. Maybe if I wait a little longer, I will get lucky.
