8/05/2010 - Oh, I like this one! I was watching some awesome WHAT'S MY LINE? episodes from 1965, and Steve Lawrence was a guest panelist for a few episodes. Well, I love What's My Line?, and it's tough, because so few participants are still with us. I was excited about the possibility of getting Mr. Lawrence to sign something for me...but what? That's what Amazon.com is for. I found a very nice looking JUDY GARLAND SHOW dvd with his name on the cover. Bought it, wrote a nice letter, and enclosed a silver Sharpie for him to use. I'm finding that a lot of these older celebs don't own decent autographing implements lately, and it leads to a lot of heartbreak when you get a success, and it's hopelessly smeared, or invisible in black Bic pen against a black background. All of these troubles can be avoided by sending a proper marker for them to use! Anyhow, according to my calendar, I mailed the request on July 19th. Received it today, August 5th. Pretty quick!
