How to send your fan mail and autograph requests to Dalai Lama?:

If you want to request an autograph, follow the guidelines bellow. If you just want to mail a letter with the address above, and do not want anything back, then you can stop reading! If you live in India send a properly stamped and self addressed envelope (minimum size 8.5" x 4") with your request letter and a photo. You can include a piece of cardboard to keep the photo from bending in shipping and also add "Do Not Bend" on the envelopes. Send your letter and wait. On average, there is going to be a 3+ month wait for a response. If you do not live in India, add several* International Reply Coupons. The International Reply Coupons (IRC) will be used by the receiver to purchase indian stamps. You can only get them at your post office. Place the IRCs into the envelope, not on it. Dalai Lama success sort of - September 28th, 2018
I wrote to the Dalai Lama on 02/14/2017 and received a reply on 09/28/2018 I used the following address Dalai Lama The Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Thekchen Choeling Complex Temple Road P.O. McLeod Ganj Dharamsala Himachal Pradesh (H.P.) 176219 India Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service destroyed it. The Dalai Lama RTS - February 23rd, 2018 | Address reported as RTS The address has been reported as RTS (Return To Sender).
It means that the postal service has not been able to deliver the mail to the address

Sent a LOR, return envelope, a 5 x 7 photo and cash for return postage to His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 8/15/ 2017 to the data base address. My letter was returned to me on 2/20/2018. Some thing is fishy. How difficult is to forward a letter to somebody like the Dalai Lama?
