If you want to request an autograph, follow the guidelines bellow. If you just want to mail a letter with the address above, and do not want anything back, then you can stop reading! If you live in USA send a properly stamped and self addressed envelope (minimum size 8.5" x 4") with your request letter and a photo. You can include a piece of cardboard to keep the photo from bending in shipping and also add "Do Not Bend" on the envelopes. Send your letter and wait. On average, there is going to be a 3+ month wait for a response. If you do not live in USA, add several* International Reply Coupons. The International Reply Coupons (IRC) will be used by the receiver to purchase american stamps. You can only get them at your post office. Place the IRCs into the envelope, not on it. 5/09/2008 - Sent: LOR, SASE and 2 index cards to address in database on 5/2.
Received: both index cards signed on 5/9. (only 7 days). I had to check this site to be sure it is an authentic autograph. I hate to say it but it looked like a kid was having a little fun at my expense. The writing looked very child like. However, comparing them to other autographs and inscriptions I believe these are real. Most people would probably say the same thing about my handwriting.
The first index card reads "For my friend Jeffry (spelled wrong), Best of Luck, Dick Van Patten 8." Second card reads " Hi Jeff, I like working with Mel Brooks. His films are fun. Dick Van Patten 8". I don't remember exactly what I wrote but I must have mentioned "Spaceballs".
If I can ever figure out how to use the scanner at work I'll do my best to post these autographs and others I've received. This is success #6 in just 3 weeks. Continue >> |

7/10/2006 - Mr. Van Patten signed the photo I sent him and personalized it as well. I will just say that he played the dad on the show 8 Is Enough and has appeared in movies like Spaceballs and Robin Hood Men in Tights. A true legend in Hollywood and I was glad to get him back and so quickly too I might add. He signed the photo "Hi Jim, Best wishes from your pal" with his signature following his message. Just awesome. The photo was taken of him at an awards ceremony!
