3/22/2008 - Well, I have had some great success from great NCAA coaches like: Coach K, Dean Smith, and Jim Calhoun. After receiving signature from these coaches, I decided to write Roy Williams at UNC. Today I received my SASE back with a note telling me that Mr. Williams charges $10.00 for an autographed photo. I find this hard to believe considering that $10.00 is much harder for me to come by than it is for Mr. Williams. I mean, I would donate the $10 if I thought he really needed it. Anyway, I now realize that Mr. Williams isn't in the same class as Coach K and the others that willingly sign for their fans. 11/23/2007 - Sent 10/17/07 Received 11/23/07 I sent Carolina Head Basketball Coach a request letter, SASE and a 4 X 6 photo to be signed at the address in the database : Coach Roy Williams Men's Basketball Univ. of N.C. Athletic Dept. PO BOX 2126 Chapel Hill, NC.27515 They sent my pic back unsigned with a print-out from their website saying "Sorry I could not get signed" but they take $10 donotions for a 8X10 signed photo. I don't know if it is a PP or if he signs them as request come in??? Anyways, it was such a bummer. They even sent my stuff back in my SASE so I had to waste and toss it. Continue >>

4/11/2006 - Well hello there gang. I got my grand daddy of 'em all back today. As a diehard, can't bleed more Carolina blue than me, biggest Tarheel fan to ever live, I got back my 2 photos that I had sent to Coach Williams. Now for those of you who remember, I got back my Dean Smith one a few months ago and flirted with the Roy Williams idea only because I am also a Mizzou fan and Williams coached our biggest rival Kansas Jayhawks as well and dealt us many a defeat. But it's amazing what a change in university's will do for your feelings toward a coach huh? Actually, I have always respected him as a coach, just didn't like him much when he was beating up on my Mizzou team at the time. But anyways, I sent him a cool letter, 2 photos and a picture of me in my Tarheel garb and also a picture of my wall in my rec room that is just one Carolina piece of memorabilia after another and today I got my pictures of him back signed and personalized. I sent him 2 pictures because one shows him laid back and laughing with his kids and the other one is of him deep in thought which shows what kind of coach he really is. He signed both photos in black sharpie and signed them both "Best Wishes to Jim" with his signature below. The letter he sent me was the icing on the cake. Bobby Knight had sent me a letter similar to this and I just think it's cool that they would take a few extra minutes to have this letter drafted. In case the scan doesn't show it to where you can read it, it says" Dear Officer Luetkenhaus: Thank you for your kind letter. The support our office has received from our fans has been remarkable. It means a lot to me and to Carolina Basketball. Although the end of our season came earlier than we have hoped for, this year has been a rewarding experience. Thanks again for supporting the Heels. Sincerely, Roy Williams - and he signed it in Carolina Blue fine tipped sharpie. I am so PSYCHED about this 3 in one success if you can't tell! I now have some of the all time top mens NCAA college basketball coaches to ever grace the sidelines.
