9/06/2008 - Alt's first big break in modeling in 1980, when she was featured on the cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine, but she gained real fame in 1982 when she was featured on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. During the 1980's she appeared on over 500 magazine covers, becoming one the most famous models of her era. Since 1986 she has been in a variety of movies. Most were Italian, but one of her recent starring roles was in the Canadian movie "Snakehead Terror". She played "Karen Oldham" in the TV adaptation of Peter Benchley's "Amazon" (1999). She has been the cover girl for travelgirl magazine both in 2004 and 2008. Sent 3/27/08; Received 6/5/08 (68 days) Carol Alt Ford Models 111 Fifth Ave. New York City, NY 10003 She gave me 2 photos and a fan letter. She wrote on my SASE: "2 photos enclosed" and "thanks for the SASE". The Le Mirador photo is 8.5x11 and it was printed on a brochure paper type. The Sport Illustrated photo is about 4x5.5" and it's thick like a postcard paper. Continue >>
