You can include a piece of cardboard to keep the photo from bending in shipping and also add "Do Not Bend" on the envelopes. Send your letter and wait. On average, there is going to be a 3+ month wait for a response. If you do not live in USA, add several* International Reply Coupons. The International Reply Coupons (IRC) will be used by the receiver to purchase american stamps. You can only get them at your post office. Place the IRCs into the envelope, not on it. Today (5 October 2007) I was very pleased to find a USA stamped enveloppe in my mailbox. It was the letter I sent to Petra Nemcova!
I wrote a self addressed and stamped letter to Petra Nemcova on 31 August 2007. I used the following address:

I added a self printed picture of Mrs Nemcova as well as one dollar bill for shipping fee. (Although the total amount of stamps on the enceloppe turned out to be $ 1.98, so next time I will put two dollar bills in the enveloppe!)
