1/24/2007 - About 2 weeks ago I was watching Conan O'Brien,a rerun, of a guy called the 'Ultramarathon Man', or Dean Karnazes...The day that he was on Conan, he had just finished a trek of 50 marathons in 50 states, in 50 days...called the 50/50/50...That night, after the show, he started running and ran home from New York to San Fran..... Other accomplishments include swimming the san francisco bay, running 24 hours straight on a tread mill, and Running 1000 miles in 10 days.... Anyway, I was intrigued by the story, so I went to his website and emailed him....I asked him two questions (what keeps you going and are you still planning on running to hawaii (he has a floating hamster wheel that runs across water))....he wrote back within just a few days, answering my questions thoroughly, but mentioning nothing of an autograph. So, I wrote back, thanked him, and kinda just blew off the autograph... WELL, today I got home to find a poster tube on the counter.... Inside was a HUGE poster, on thick poster paper, of him running in France up in the mountains....he signed it huge 'To Jordan, Keep Exploring! My best, Dean Karnazes'....he spent over 5 bucks on postage alone! This is an awesome success from an awesome guy! I'll have to break out my camera sometime and take a picture of it.
