Carleton Carpenter Actor Films and TV - November 18th, 2017 Carleton Upham Carpenter, Jr. (born July 10, 1926), known professionally as Carleton Carpenter, is an American film, television and stage actor, magician, songwriter, and novelist. Carpenter served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Among his accomplishments in that regard was helping to build the airstrip from which the Enola Gay took off for its flight to bomb Hiroshima. He gained fame when teamed in 1950 with Debbie Reynolds in Three Little Words and Two Weeks with Love. In a guest sequence in Three Little Words, they perform âI Wanna Be Loved by Youâ as vaudeville players Dan Healy and Helen Kane, with Reynolds dubbed by Kane. In Two Weeks with Love, where they have featured roles, their duet "Aba Daba Honeymoon" was the first soundtrack recording to become a top-of-the-chart gold record, reaching number three on the Billboard charts.

actor/songwriter "Carleton Carpenter" success - November 29th, 2014 Before signing with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, he was a magician and an actor on Broadway, beginning with David Merrick's first production Bright Boy in 1944, followed by co-starring appearances in Three to Make Ready with Ray Bolger, John Murray Anderson's Almanac and Hotel Paradiso with Bert Lahr and Angela Lansbury. Carpenter was featured in Lost Boundaries, then signed with MGM, where he had roles in Summer Stock with Judy Garland and Gene Kelly, Father of the Bride with Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor, Vengeance Valley with Burt Lancaster, The Whistle at Eaton Falls with Lloyd Bridges, and the war dramas Take The High Ground and Up Periscope. He was teamed with Debbie Reynolds in Three Little Words and Two Weeks With Love. He wrote material for Debbie Reynolds, Kaye Ballard, Marlene Dietrich and Hermione Gingold, and also scripts for films and television. He guest-starred on numerous radio and TV shows.

Classic Actor Carleton Carpenter Success!! - January 28th, 2013 Hi. So happy with this one! Sent Carleton Carpenter a letter, pic, IC, & SASE.
About 3 weeks later I got my pic back, & IC signed! Another nice addition to my guest star collection of the classic show "Perry Mason".   |
