Donald Alvin Buford (born February 2, 1937) is a former Major League Baseball player. An infielder/outfielder, the switch-hitting Buford played for the Chicago White Sox (1963–67) and Baltimore Orioles (1968–72).In 1969 Buford hit a career-high .291 as the Orioles won the American League pennant. In the first game of the World Series against the New York Mets, Buford hit a leadoff home run against Tom Seaver—the first-ever home run to lead off a World Series. On 8/4/11, I sent a letter, card and SASE to former Baltimore Orioles player Don Buford and received my card signed and personalized on 8/24/11. I sent it to:15412 Valley Vista Blvd., Shermon Oaks, CA 91403. Im trying to get autographs from the Orioles of the 70s, so if you have any addresses, I would appreciate them. -
