10/27/2009 - Dorothy Janis was born in Dallas, Texas, February 19, 1910. Her short film career began when she was visiting a cousin, who was working on a film for Fox in 1927. Her beauty was noticed at once and she was asked to make a screen test. Janis went on to make five films: four silents and one talkie. She was best known for playing opposite Ramon Novarro in The Pagan (1929). She retired in 1930 and married band leader Wayne King in 1932. They were married 53 years, until his death in 1985.

Sent Ms. Janis a letter, SASE and two 5x7 pictures on 4/17/09

Received yesterday, May 16th, 2009!
She signed and personalized both pictures!
She used my SASE, there was no return address on the envelope.
I'm sorry the picture quality is bad, it was taken with my Sidekick. And the quality on that isn't well.
